A group of retired friends from Telford meet once a month for a jolly day out. In May 2017, they met at the Gamekeeper’s Inn near Berry Hill in the Forest of Dean.
They started off in Symonds Yat, where the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds was present, pointing out peregrine nests in the craggy limestone cliffs. They followed this visit with a coach tour around the Forest of Dean, passing by the 17th century Speech House, Wenchford picnic site, The Dean Heritage Centre museum near Soudley, Cinderford town, Ruardean — famous for the production of Horlick’s! — and back to the Gamekeeper’s Inn.
