The Forest of Dean is a great place to visit for those of you who are coming over to England (and Cardiff, Wales!) for the 2015 World cup in September-October 2015. While Gloucester is almost on our doorstep, Cardiff and Birmingham are also within easy reach, either by car or by train.

Between matches you can rest up in local bed and breakfasts, campsites, Youth Hostels, — we even have “glamping” for the discerning traveller. You can visit well-known areas such as Symonds Yat, Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle, Goodrich Castle; take refreshing walks along the river Wye, or through the woods; visit the Dean Heritage Center museum; visit craft shops in Taurus Crafts or Harts Barn.

While you are here, why not visit Hereford Cathedral where you can see the famous Mappa Mundi as well as a copy of the Magna Carta?

Forest of Dean & Wye Valley Tour guides can put together walks and short tours for you and your family. Make the most of your visit to this magical area!
