A large group of visitors to Whitemead set out on a woodland walk on the first day of Spring led by one of our guides.
They soon passed some unusual wild boar mootings, much more extensive than the usual turning over of turf, before setting off into the woodland. They were all eager to find out about the wild boar, the free roaming sheep and the Forest of Dean customs.
The weather remained dry and the group was welcomed back to Parkend by the sound of a woodpecker near to Parkend Pike House.
Despite the rain, guests staying at Whitemead, Parkend enjoyed a woodland walk on New Year’s Day morning. The guests came from as close as Bristol and as far away as Kent to spend their holiday at Whitemead in the Forest of Dean. The rain had made it a little muddy underfoot but the guests were well prepared and were game for the minor ups and downs of the 3 mile walk led by our guide.
A group of 13 visitors to the Tudor Farmhouse, Clearwell took advantage of the fine weather on the Boxing Day guided walk around the village of Clearwell.
