Bluebell season

Deer in bluebell wood

The bluebell season in the Forest of Dean started earlier than expected this year. Driving between Parkend and Lydney has been very distracting because the route has been a colourful carpet of blue since the middle of April. Fortunately the season is extensive because different areas bloom at different times. Forestry management has ensured that there is sufficient ground exposure to allow growth of bluebells in some unexpected places. So get out there and enjoy them while they are still out!
