Despite the unreliable weather, Boxing Day walkers from Speech House Hotel enjoyed a morning stroll before returning for their fabulous Christmas weekend.
The walked started from Speech House Hotel, spent a short time in the Cyril Hart Arboretum before exiting back to the woods. They then zig-zagged around the access road called Spruce Ride, taking in the old railway line that led to New Fancy Colliery, Trafalgar Avenue, so named to commemorate Admiral Nelson, as is leading to Nelson Grove, a plantation of small oaks.
Along the way, walkers saw Speech House Lake, so cherished by local anglers.
And all this before their sumptuous Boxing Day Buffet lunch!
