Two of our guides took a party of biology students from the Netherlands on a walk over Coppett Hill. The students saw some fine views over the route they had just taken – Ross to Godrich by canoe. They walked the same slopes that artist Joshua Cristall walked in the 1820’s. Cristall painted some fine watercolours of women collecting and burning bracken on the hill. They found a snake that was actually a slowworm in St Giles churchyard and saw a white fox hiding from huntsmen behind a cliff. After the walk they continued their visit to the UK by boarding their coach bound for London.
